During Super Bowl weekend in February 2024, Don Julio and Lumen & Forge transformed one of the most recognizable structures on the Las Vegas skyline into a monumental bottle of Don Julio 1942. The projection ran across two faces of the 1,149-foot Stratosphere tower for four nights, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Lighting up the Las Vegas skyline
The scale of the tower demanded long throw distances, purpose-built scaffold positions, weatherproof projector enclosures, weeks of planning, and careful alignment across the structure's tapering geometry. The finished activation carried Don Julio's amber bottle, label artwork, color, and motion high above the city, visible from miles away.
Converging 35 high-output projectors
MELT's primary role was the convergence and edge blending of the 35-projector south-face system. The array used Panasonic 40,000-lumen units positioned roughly 1,000 feet from the tower, delivering more than 1.4 million lumens to the mapped surface.
The tower was divided from top to bottom into five vertical zones, with seven projectors assigned to each zone. Every unit was aligned with Panasonic's internal projection-mapping tools, then blended into one continuous architectural canvas.
Five zones on one massive network
All 35 projectors were addressed and controlled across a large Ethernet network. That networked workflow made it possible to move through the zones systematically, refine geometry and blend boundaries at tower scale, and keep the full array coordinated through onsite programming and final show operation.
