Ye Vultures Listening Experience San Francisco

For the March 12, 2024 ¥$ / Vultures Listening Experience at Chase Center in San Francisco, featuring ¥$, the collaborative project from Ye, formerly Kanye West, and Ty Dolla $ign, MELT was brought in by InSync Productions as a master projectionist, visual artist, and media-server operator for a one-night arena system built around a circular translucent fabric screen.

The centerpiece was a large hanging cylindrical scrim suspended over the floor. Four projector positions, placed around the room at north, south, east, and west, were blended into the fabric so the screen could hold live camera magnification, Vultures visuals, and split-layout compositions from multiple angles.

The transparency of the fabric became part of the look. Camera feeds and visual content could sit on opposite sides of the cylinder, while light and motion bled through the material just enough to create layered ghost images across the room. Instead of treating the scrim like a flat surface, the system used its translucency and circular geometry as part of the show design.

MELT's role covered projector alignment, blend tuning, Resolume playback, live layout support, and show-day operation. Internal production notes describe the signal path as Resolume straight to the projectors, with four hanging stacks on truss and the media-server position living near the hockey goal area.
